A few days ago I
reposted a quote by John Calvin where he wrote, "False
teaching is easily identified by the fact that it is willing received by all,
and is to everyone's liking." When you equate that notion with the
proliferation of so-called Christian books and their popularity, one has to
wonder about the spiritual health of the Church. In March, the
Evangelical Christian Publisher's Association posted the top selling
'Christian' books. Here are the top 10:

So along with several
'adult coloring books'; with the unstoppable Joel Osteen; we have the
questionable title 'Jesus Calling' as a reflection of the believer's
appetite. Before you buy:
I'm not into adult
coloring books. I am burdened by the
lack of Christian thought, study and meditation in God's Word. I'm not sure how coloring books help?
“The words of the wise are like goads,
their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd. Be
warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is
no end, and much study wearies the body.” (Ecclesiastes 12:11–12, NIV)
