Today's Sufficient Grace

2 Chronicles 12:12 (ESV),

12 And when he humbled himself the wrath of the Lord turned from him, so as not to make a complete destruction. Moreover, conditions were good in Judah.

God keeps His promise to Solomon after the dedication of the Temple (2 Chronicles 7:12); particularly verse 14: if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, ESV).   God responds to Rehoboam's humility by relenting from His punishment.

"Let all be exhorted earnestly to seek much of a humble spirit, and to endeavor to be humble in all their behavior toward God and men." [1]
